The design challenge as told by its creators
"In the heart of Bolgheri — a historic Tuscan town rich in artistic and literary heritage — MGF Paesaggi has developed a project that engages with the region’s agricultural memory and refined landscape identity.
Here, among ancient rural buildings and expanses of vineyards, the design aligns with the client’s vision of respecting and enhancing cultivated nature and rural tradition, preserving their authenticity and intrinsic balance.
The new swimming pool, inspired by old stone watering troughs, evokes the use of water as both a vital and contemplative element: enclosed by stone walls and local paving, it recalls the tactile quality and timeless character of tradition. Natural woods and hand-finished stones — chiseled, grooved, or sandblasted — become traces of a past reinterpreted in a contemporary key, carriers of a beauty renewed without losing its identity.
The newly designed lake integrates delicately into the agricultural landscape, enriching and extending its visual depth.
Among vineyards and reflections of water, the garden unfolds as a natural continuation of the Tuscan countryside, where cultivated vegetation meets spontaneous growth in a subtle balance between order and freedom.
Soft planting frames the lake, while olive trees and vines recall the site’s agricultural memory.
Each element is designed to evolve with the seasons, offering a visual and sensory experience in constant transformation — a landscape that breathes, evolves, and lives in perfect harmony with the land that sustains it."
